Combining light.

This is a picture that i took of my friend Max in a stairwell.  For this photo there was a sufficient amount of natural like coming in from behind the subject and I also used one off camera flash as a fill light to light up the subjects face. For this photo I used my Nikon D7000 and my 18-105mm 3.5 - 5.6 lens, the setting on the camera were ISO 800, 18mm, 1/180 at f3.5.

One thing I like about this photo is the red stairs, I find that they give the picture a nice warm feeling and bring out the red in the subjects lips. I like the stairs for the fact that the lines provided, draw your attention inwards toward the subject. The stairs allow the subject to stand out from the rest of the picture.

One thing that I could have improved on would be avoiding the slight shadow in the background. Otherwise I think this was a successful picture and was a good use of combing natural and unnatural light.
